The GAD Office aligns its efforts with the Philippine Plan for Gender-Responsive Development (1995-2025), a national framework adopted in 1995 to advance gender equality and development. This plan, along with the Magna Carta of Women (Republic Act No. 9710) enacted in 2009, mandates the inclusion of gender perspectives in all levels of governance.
The Magna Carta ensures women’s participation in policy-making and development planning, while national guidelines, such as Memorandum Circular No. 2011-01, provide a roadmap for establishing and strengthening Gender and Development (GAD) initiatives across government agencies.
